HOW DOES HEALTHCARE REFORM IMPACT IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES?

Health For All Banner

The first "open enrollment" period to sign up for coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is nearing its end!

We are committed to helping build a healthy California with inclusive access to healthcare for all. In order to facilitate efforts to enroll eligible immigrant Californians in a health plan by the March deadline, we have created this health toolkit with resources and guides from CIPC and our partners.

For February we've partnered with the ACLU of San Diego to produce a document with key enrollment information. How the Affordable Care Act Impacts Immigrant & Migrant Populations in California provides a summary of how the ACA applies to immigrant and migrant populations in CA including qualified immigrants, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, undocumented individuals and their eligible children.

The resources below provide in-depth information about immigrants and health access., For example, our DACA guide informs immigrant youth and advocates who are DACA recipients of their options for public and health benefits in CA.

We encourage you to use these guides as a tool for advocacy, enrollment, and organizing and look forward to working with you in the coming months to make a healthy California for ALL a reality.
