Andre Barrios

Andre Barrios is the Organizing Manager at CIPC. Based in Los Angeles, he is responsible for developing the organization’s partnerships across the region as well as enhancing CIPC’s presence in Southern California through relationships with coalitions and organizations based in the Greater Los Angeles area, as well as the central coast and the central valley.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Andre Barrios has dedicated his career to bettering the community he grew up in through various forms of organizing. After completing his undergrad studying political science at the University of California, San Diego, he came back home and began working with El Proyecto del Barrio Inc, where he helped patients sign up for MediCal and helped provide information and medical services to individuals of low income households or individuals with no legal status.

Andre then got involved in community organizing through political campaigns. First, he worked as the Regional Field Director for the Luis Lopez for Assembly 2017 campaign, overseeing the campaigns field operation in Highland Park. Then, he became the Deputy Field Director for the Katie Hill for Congress Campaign for the entirety of 2018, where he helped formulate Latinx outreach strategy, managed the paid canvass program, and oversaw the campaign’s field program for the Antelope Valley portion of California’s 25th congressional district.

Most recently, Andre was the field director for Student’s for Education Reform’s involvement in the 2019 School Board Special Election for Board District 5 in Los Angeles, as well as being recruited to work in Seattle to help with Howard Schultz’ “From the Ground Up” book tour as a field director. In his spare time, you can find him producing and performing music. He is now dedicated to working and fixing the problems with immigration policy that affect our state.
