Anthony Rubio is the Senior Development Associate at the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) and, as such, supports growing CIPC’s diversified fundraising portfolio. Under Anthony’s leadership, CIPC’s fundraising events, campaigns, and individual giving programs continue to grow to inspire and invest in CIPC and the California immigrant rights movement as a whole.
Anthony brings over 15 years of non-profit leadership experience to CIPC. Prior to joining the team in 2018, Anthony established local American Cancer Society fundraising campaigns in southern california, researched the growth of the non-profit sector in the inland empire, mobilized queer organizing efforts in Riverside, coordinated international events for men’s health groups in Mexico City, supported development efforts and did national civic engagement work for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), and helped fundraise for local street vendors in Chicago. Most recently, Anthony participated in Compass Point’s Fundraising Bright Spots program, to gain fundraising strategies and inspiration from social change organizations, and Haas Jr. Fund’s Message, Movement, Money (M3) initiative, hosted by CIPC and facilitated by M+R to bring fundraising best practices to community-based immigrant rights organizations in California.
Anthony has a B.A. in Global Studies and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside. Anthony has also studied global business leadership at Yale University, economic development at Yonsei University, and international relations at UNAM in Mexico City. On their downtime, you’ll find Anthony loves a good dance party, reading queer literature, dabbling in the arts, sharing plant-based meals with friends and family, and exercising a green thumb in the garden.
