Kim joined CIPC in 2018 as the Operations Coordinator. Prior to joining CIPC, Kim worked at the Immigrant Defenders Law Center, where she began two integral roles on the Administrative Team: Operations Assistant and Human Resources Associate.
An immigrant from the Philippines, Kim grew up with a firsthand understanding of the immigrant experience in America and the need for stronger, more equitable, inclusive policies. She began her advocacy work in college through student organizing and continued later with local community organizations. She volunteered with the Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and the Korean American Resource and Cultural Center in Chicago. Kim graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, minor in Asian American studies, and a concentration in Photography in 2014, before moving to Los Angeles with her partner. In her free time, Kim enjoys playing with her dog Marceline, growing her online Insta bookclub and supporting her voracious reading habit, and countless attempts at plant parenthood.
