Matias Bernal, Ph.D., is the Development Director at the California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC), where he leads fundraising efforts, cultivates donor relationships, oversees grant management, and drives strategic development initiatives to support the organization’s mission. With a strong commitment to equity and social justice, Matias brings 17 years of experience in nonprofit development and fundraising.
Before joining CIPC, Matias served in various roles at multiple organizations focused on education, immigration, domestic violence, sexual assault, and supporting adults with developmental disabilities. Throughout his career, he has worked with various nonprofits, leading resource development, strengthening community partnerships, and advancing social justice causes.
A proud DACA recipient and undocumented immigrant, Matias has dedicated his career to advocating for marginalized communities and ensuring long-term financial stability for mission-driven organizations.
In his spare time, Matias loves salsa dancing, spending time with his partner, family, friends and dogs, and rewatching Grey’s Anatomy.
