Communications Specialist
Office: Los Angeles
Natalie Vasileff is the CIPC’s Communications Specialist. In this position, she helps develop communications materials and is responsible for overseeing CIPC’s online and media presence.
Before joining CIPC, Natalie worked as a communications intern for state Sen. Jamie Eldridge in Massachusetts. Her role included monitoring the senator’s online and media engagement, preparing the staff for committee hearings and other events, and working closely with various local and state policies, ranging from housing to criminal justice.
Natalie graduated from Emerson College in Boston, Mass., where she earned her undergraduate degree in journalism with minors in political science and publishing. While studying, Natalie additionally co-created, co-wrote, and co-hosted an international news podcast, creating an accessible news source for students across campus. Her team’s mission included creating understandable and digestible news while focusing on underreported topics and international affairs from around the globe. For her final thesis project, Natalie created a multimedia news piece focusing on Ukrainian immigrants across Boston neighborhoods. While at school, Natalie additionally worked for The Outreach Team as a data validator, becoming more involved in local advocacy work.
After leaving Russia to come to the United States when she was younger, Natalie became interested in the national immigration process and immigration journeys others have experienced. At CIPC, she is excited to learn more about community efforts and how nonprofit advocacy organizations, and news media intersect to help shape the narratives about immigration in California.
Natalie is originally from Moscow, Russia. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys spending time with her friends, reading, painting, exploring Los Angeles areas for hiking, and bird-watching!
