Drivers' Licenses (AB 60)

About

In January 2015, after a twenty-year community campaign, access to Driver’s licenses became a reality for undocumented people in California! Immigrants and allies worked tirelessly to pass Assembly Bill 60, the Safe and Responsible Driver’s Act. Under AB 60, any California resident is able to apply for a driver’s license, regardless of immigration status.

Our Work

CIPC is proud to collaborate with immigrant rights organizations up and down the state through the Drive California coalition. Drive CA is a statewide coalition comprised of a broad range of immigrants’ rights, faith-based, service and civil rights organizations working to ensure the successful implementation of California’s landmark driver’s license program for immigrants.
