The California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) is proud to invite you to participate in our “Immigrant Day of Action 2024: Our Diversity is Our Power” (IDA) to be held at the state Capitol in Sacramento on April 16, 2024. This annual event brings together hundreds of people from across the state to celebrate and advocate for immigrant rights. This year’s theme “Our Diversity is Our Power” was specifically chosen to highlight the power inherent in California’s diverse immigrant communities. This message is especially important for us to uplift during this presidential election year.
From the campaign commercials on television and social media to the debates being held in Washington, we know that there are candidates and elected officials who are intent on making our immigrant communities and people seeking asylum at the border scapegoats for the nation’s problems. It’s time for us to say: Enough!
During IDA, you will have an opportunity to speak directly to state elected representatives, lobby for the policies we need to improve the wellbeing of all Californians and to meet and share your experiences with like minded people from various regions throughout the state. Immigrant Day of Action will also include a diverse line up of leaders, partners, and impacted community members from across the state, a celebration of our accomplishments and timely discussions on issues facing the immigrants rights movement in the Golden State.
Whether you’ve joined us before or this is your first time, your participation is critical to ensure a more equitable and just California for all. The deadline to register is March 15, 2024, and capacity is limited. Please act now and join the hundreds of community members, advocates and leaders who will be at IDA.
