The people and communities we work with across California are at the core of everything we do. As a statewide immigrant rights organization that builds from the ground up, we bring the voices of immigrants and their families from all parts of California to our elected officials in Sacramento. Our organizing team, representing regions across the state, builds capacity, convenes advocates and community members across regions to share critical information, uplifts immigrant stories and concerns, and collaborates on ways to move policies that benefit all Californians. This is how we build power that’s grounded in people and communities to change policies at the state and local level.
Every year at IDA, we bring advocates, community members, constituents, and allies from across the state to Sacramento to urge the governor and legislature to make bold, equitable public investments for a strong, sustainable economy that works for ALL of us.
We convene a cohort of local immigrant rights organizations across California through the Regional Capacity Building Project (RCBP) to bring the power and experience of people on the ground to social justice work at the state and regional levels.
