#PowerUp 2022

We’ve built tremendous power over the years together. Just a mere 25 years ago, we were fighting against proposed state bans on immigrants accessing education, hospitals, and public assistance. And fast-forward to 2022 – we just passed #Health4All, CA #IDs4All, and more!

Just how far have we really come? What does the next 25 years look like for our state, our communities, and our loved ones? What do we need to do in order to build the future we want collectively? Join us on Wednesday, October 26th, 1-2pm for a presentation on the Immigrant Justice movement’s wins over the past 25 years and how we will #PowerUp together to tackle current and future challenges in California.

This Zoom presentation will be a retrospective of what we have already won and learned as well as a preview of demographic and other shifts in the state. Come hear long-time immigrant rights’ leaders Cynthia Buiza (CIPC), Dr. Manuel Pastor (USC Equity Research Institute), and Nana Gyamfi (Black Alliance for Just Immigration) discuss how far we have come and the pressing issues that immigrant Californians face, continued gaps, and ways we can collectively take action. Spanish interpretation will be provided.
