CIPC Condemns the Fatal Shooting of Minnesota Woman by ICE Agent

Los Angeles, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2026) – The California Immigrant Policy Center (CIPC) issued the following statement regarding the fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis, Minn., by an ICE agent.

“Once again, the Trump administration’s attacks on immigrant communities across the nation have resulted in a tragic death. We are outraged that today an ICE agent shot and killed a woman and mother, Renee Nicole Good, on the streets of Minneapolis. This is not the first time that violent  and unnecessary immigration raids by the federal government have resulted in violence and bloodshed,” said CIPC Executive Director Masih Fouladi.

“According to news reports, immigration officers have fired on at least nine people in five states and Washington, D.C. Last week, Keith Porter was shot and killed outside his apartment in Los Angeles by an off-duty federal agent on New Year’s Eve. The tragic killings of people by ICE agents are yet another example of how mass immigration raids endanger our communities and erode our constitutional rights.

“CIPC affirms our solidarity with the people and the families of those who have been killed or injured by local, state and federal law enforcement, and the communities protesting and demanding ICE out of our neighborhoods, our cities and our states.”
